Japanese medical multinational Nipro will move its current Mollerussa plant to Lleida, investing €25 million to expand it into one of its main European centres for dialysis treatment liquid. The company expects the new facility in the Torre Solé industrial estate to be operational by 2028, according to company sources.

This move was one of the operations managed by the Invest in Lleida and Talent Office, created by Lleida City Council. Nipro chose the Torre Solé estate, located near the Ll-11 road and the southern bypass, due to its "excellent logistical connectivity, the availability of talent, and the capacity to support Nipro's long-term operational and growth ambitions in the region," as reported by Segre.

Nipro's European Expansion

Nipro Renal Care is a division of Nipro Corporation, headquartered in Japan. The company was founded in Osaka in 1954 as a glass tube industry. It entered the medical sector in 1965 through capital participation and the acquisition of other companies. By March 2026, Nipro had 38,593 consolidated employees globally.

The new Lleida plant will significantly increase Nipro's capacity for producing dialysis treatment liquids, strengthening its presence in the European market. The investment highlights Lleida's growing appeal for international businesses seeking strategic locations with strong logistical links and a skilled workforce.
