Event to Connect Entrepreneurs Across the Pyrenees
Economic projects aiming to take root in the Alt Pirineu and Aran regions will come together on Tuesday 20 October at the CETAP centre in La Seu d’Urgell for a new edition of Networking Arrela’t. The event is designed to strengthen collaboration among entrepreneurs, self-employed workers, cooperatives, and local entities operating in the mountain comarcas. The meeting forms part of an ongoing participatory process launched earlier this year through a survey to identify the needs of economic actors in the region. Organisers aim to gather direct input on the challenges faced by local initiatives and to understand what kind of support, such as services, resources, or formats, could best serve their development.
Supporting Grassroots Economic Development
Networking Arrela’t seeks to connect established initiatives in the Pyrenees with emerging projects still in the implementation phase. Insights gathered during the session will help shape future actions under the Arrela’t project, ensuring they align with real needs on the ground. The initiative is coordinated by Joventut in collaboration with LEADER consortia and the economic promotion departments of comarcal councils and the Conselh Generau d’Aran, with support from the Ateneu Cooperatiu de l’Alt Pirineu i Aran. The Ateneu, a cooperative network active across six mountain regions, focuses on promoting social and cooperative economies to create quality jobs driven by local residents.
How to Participate
Attendance at the La Seu event requires prior registration. The session will also be streamed via the Arrela’t Alt Pirineu i Aran project’s communication channels, allowing broader access for those unable to attend in person. This gathering is one of several comarcal networking days launched under the Matchfunding Arrela’t initiative, which began with regional events in late May and early June. The event also ties into the wider ODISSEU project, led by the Consorci GAL Alt Urgell–Cerdanya, which supports youth entrepreneurship and rural development across rural Catalonia.
The Networking Arrela’t initiative aims to strengthen local economic networks and ensure mountain communities have the tools they need to thrive.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, explore collaboration opportunities, and access tailored support mechanisms. The event underscores ongoing efforts to revitalise remote areas through locally driven economic models, supported by regional cooperation and targeted public initiatives.
