Shooting and Abduction in Gavà

Around 6:30 PM on Monday, 7 September 2026, unknown assailants in a vehicle opened fire on a motorcyclist in the Ca n'Espinós urbanisation in Gavà, Baix Llobregat. According to Catalan police sources and ElCaso.com, the attackers stopped after wounding the man, loaded him into the trunk of their vehicle, and fled the scene. Residents raised the alarm, prompting a response from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the regional police force. Officers arrived to find the victim’s motorcycle lying on the ground and blood at the scene, but no sign of the injured man.

Victim Found in Sabadell

Later that evening, a man with a gunshot wound was discovered near the Can Oriac swimming pool in Sabadell, Vallès region. The incident coincided with the end of the town’s annual festival. The victim, whose age and nationality have not been disclosed, sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury, as the bullet struck a non-vital area. He is currently receiving medical treatment.


Investigation Underway

No arrests have been made. The case has been taken over by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the South metropolitan region, as the incident began in Gavà. Police are investigating possible links to drug trafficking, with initial suspicions pointing to unresolved debts. Authorities have not ruled out further developments as the investigation progresses.

The incident marks yet another firearm-related crime in Catalonia this summer, highlighting ongoing concerns about organised crime and violence.
