A 74-year-old German motorcyclist died on Friday after his vehicle left the road on the N-260 in Montferrer i Castellbò, in Alt Urgell. The crash happened in Catalonia around midday and brings the year’s road death toll to 60, according to the Catalan Traffic Service.
Mossos d'Esquadra officers received the alert at 12:08pm. The incident took place at kilometre point 253 of the N-260, and authorities are still investigating why the motorcycle left the road.
Emergency services were sent to the scene, including two Mossos d'Esquadra patrols, two units from the Generalitat Fire Brigade, and a ground unit plus a medical helicopter from the Medical Emergency System (SEM). Traffic at the site was reduced to alternating flow while crews worked.
