Investigation underway

The Reus Local Police (Guàrdia Urbana) have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Patrols attended the scene to gather evidence and reconstruct the incident, but as of Sunday morning, no official details have been released regarding whether road conditions, vehicle failure or human error contributed to the collision.

A fire service unit from the Bombers de la Generalitat also attended to assist with on-site operations.

The incident occurred within the urban area of Reus, meaning it will not be included in the annual count of traffic fatalities recorded by the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), which only registers deaths occurring on interurban roads outside populated areas.

Call for road safety

This fatality marks another tragic incident in Catalonia’s urban road network. Local authorities continue to urge caution, particularly at busy intersections, and remind motorcyclists and drivers alike to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
