Tarragona has been central to a Mossos d’Esquadra operation that dismantled a criminal group linked to hashish trafficking across Catalonia and Andalusia. The Division of Criminal Investigation, known as the DIC, led the case and police arrested 10 people, according to officials.

The detainees were nine men and one woman, aged between 24 and 52. Police said the group operated from several locations across Catalonia and had links with other criminal organisations in Andalusia.

The investigation was carried out in three phases, starting in November 2025 and ending in May 2026. Authorities said the staged approach helped them track the group’s activity and connections.

The DIC focused on disrupting the supply chain and distribution network for the hashish. Officials said the arrests were a significant blow to organised crime in the region.

Police have not yet released details on the amount of hashish seized or the exact locations of the arrests. The investigation remains ongoing. For more Catalonia news, see our news tag and the Mossos d’Esquadra official site.
