Mollerussa, in the Lleida province, will host its main annual festival from 14 to 17 May, featuring approximately 50 cultural, sporting, and leisure activities. The programme builds on popular events from previous years and introduces new attractions, aiming to make the festival more inclusive and accessible across the city.

New additions include a popular orienteering race and the Fita Alta Madness, both relocated to the city centre to offer a fresh way to discover Mollerussa. The festival will also see the first Youth Second-Hand Exchange Market and a surfskate and technical training session at the recently improved Skatepark.

Festival Kicks Off with Fire and Music

The official start is on Thursday, 14 May, with a special festival for the Senior Centre, the ringing of bells, and a traditional sausage barbecue organised with Jovent de Mollerussa and Agrupament Escolta Cal Met. The evening will continue with an inaugural fire show by Diables de Mollerussa, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary, followed by a concert from the group Claquera.

Saturday night's music will feature Banda Neón, supported by Brou and DJ Capde. The day starts in the afternoon with the Jove Fest at the bowling alley marquee, where Jambolainers, Crit, and Dj Rayko will perform, leading up to the evening concerts at the pavilion.

Friday's new highlights include Vespreig, co-organised with Quinta del 76, also at the bowling alley marquee. This event will feature Band The Cool and DJ sets from Bluetonic and Luara Bearka. That same night, younger audiences can attend the Festival Hands Up by Flaix FM at the Pla d'Urgell pavilion.

Teatre L'Amistat will also play a special part, hosting performances such as the Habaneras by Pescadors de l'Escala with rum cremat on Friday. On Saturday, the theatre will stage the play 'Cunyades' (Sisters-in-Law), starring Fermí Fernández, Mònica Pérez, Jordi Rios, and Míriam Tortosa. Sunday will feature a jazz concert by the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, celebrating its 20th anniversary. Tickets for the play and the jazz concert are available for €15 via www.teatrelamistat.com.

The youth will have their own space with a new edition of Dancing Molle, promoted by the Adolescent Participation Council. Families can enjoy street entertainment sessions and a creative play area at Cal Jaques, which will be open throughout the three main days of the festival.

Traditional Culture and Sporting Events

Traditional culture will be prominent with the 20th Giants and Grallers Gathering on Saturday, bringing together around ten groups. The Colla Gegantera i Grallera de L'Arreu will host the event, also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the city's two most recent giants, Pepito and Carme, who are featured on this year's festival poster. Following the gathering, the ARF Diables de Mollerussa will start a large correfoc, or fire run.

Sunday will host the 'Diada Castellera', a human towers event, bringing three invited groups to the square: Margeners de Guissona, Tirallongues de Manresa, and Malfargats de Pallars. Sardana dances will take place in Plaça de l'1 d'Octubre and Plaça Major, and afternoon dances will feature well-known groups such as Maravella, Selvatana, and Nueva Etapa.

The 32nd edition of the Festival Market will again fill the streets with around 30 stalls from local businesses, supported by the local delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Mollerussa Comercial.

Sporting events include a variety of tournaments and competitions: the School Football 7 Gathering, the 27th Igor Florez Chess Memorial, and tournaments for table tennis, padel, and water polo. A popular cycling event for Salt del Duran and a classic motorbike gathering complete the diverse programme, which will conclude with the traditional firework display from Plaça de l'Orfeó Renaixença.
