Police officers investigating a fatal brawl between two families in a Mollerussa bar have told the Lleida Provincial Court that the two main suspects, a father and son, were responsible for the stabbing death of a 35-year-old man. The trial by popular jury started this week, focusing on the incident that occurred in late 2022.

According to Mossos d'Esquadra agents, the father and son arrived at the bar armed with knives and switchblades. During a series of attacks, the victim sustained fatal stab wounds. Investigators described the confrontation as an "imbalance of forces" between members of the two families involved.

Officers said the father allegedly attacked the victim with a knife featuring a 25-centimetre blade. His son reportedly wounded the man with a switchblade. The popular jury viewed security camera footage from the bar, which police described as a "rapid and confusing" sequence of events.
