Mollerussa council has unanimously approved the Partial Urban Plan for the SUBD-7 sector, an area on Ronda de Ponent opposite the Mercadona supermarket. This development will allow for new commercial uses alongside residential properties, transforming the space into a new zone integrated within the town's urban fabric.

The plan aims to promote ordered growth for Mollerussa, creating new economic and housing opportunities for residents. The council also unanimously approved a modification to the General Urban Planning Plan (POUM) to standardise regulations for industrial zones between party walls.

Council Approves Key Agreements and Financial Measures

Beyond urban planning, the council approved two addenda to agreements with the Pla d'Urgell County Council. One relates to migration and initial reception services for displaced people, while the second regulates the delegation of municipal powers concerning sanitation. All municipal groups voted in favour of these addenda, except for the PP, which voted against them.

The Basic Guide for Municipal Auditing, designed to speed up processes, also passed. All councillors voted in favour, apart from Rosalia Carnicé, the councillor for Junts per Mollerussa, who abstained. Additionally, two extrajudicial credit files were approved: one for the Mollerussa Town Council totalling €266,171, and another for Fira de Mollerussa amounting to €29,280. The governing team voted in favour, while CUP, PP, and Councillor Carnicé abstained, and ERC voted against.

Looking ahead, the implementation of the Ronda de Ponent urban plan will now move forward, with detailed planning and construction expected to follow. This development is a significant step in Mollerussa's strategy to expand its housing options and commercial offerings, adapting to the needs of its growing population.
