Strong Performance at Misericòrdia Festival
The Moixiganguers de Igualada demonstrated their form at the Diada de la Misericòrdia in Reus this weekend, completing a 4d9f, four people wide, nine levels high with a full third-level base, in their second round. This was the first time the group has successfully built the 4d9f formation outside their home city this season. They performed alongside the Xiquets de Reus and the Castellers de Lleida in a display that reaffirmed their competitive strength just weeks before the Tarragona Castells Competition.
Round-by-Round Highlights
- In the first round, the Moixiganguers revalidated their 5d8 (five-wide, eight-high with full base).
- The Xiquets de Reus completed a 3d9f, the first of the year, and later attempted an additional level on the 3d8.
- The Castellers de Lleida successfully dismantled a 4d8 and later completed an 8-level tower with a full base, their first attempt in two years.
The day concluded with a joint round of pillars, celebrating community and casteller collaboration.
After two flawless rounds, both Reus and Igualada called for 'one more level,' already looking ahead to the Tarragona Arena Plaça.

The Moixiganguers will next compete at the Castells Competition in Tarragona on Sunday 4 October 2026, where they aim to debut new, unprecedented towers.
