Emergency teams in Catalonia are concentrating their search near Pals, in Baix Empordà, after a teenager went missing on a jet ski between L'Escala and L'Estartit. The jet ski was found on Pals beach on Tuesday afternoon, 11 June.

The Bombers de la Generalitat have set up a command centre in Pals. Search work continued through the night, with the Bombers' drone unit covering areas where the teenager may be located. Salvament Marítim is leading the sea search with several vessels, while the Bombers are carrying out the land search with nine units, including drone teams and the Special Actions Group, GRAE.

Jet skis from the Military Emergency Unit, the UME, are also helping, with attention on the southern bay of Roses and the Palamós area. The teenager disappeared on Wednesday night, 10 June, while travelling with companions on jet skis from Canyelles and Almadrava to Santa Margarida, in the Bay of Roses.

When they reached Santa Margarida, the other companions realised the teenager had not arrived and alerted emergency services. Officials said the last confirmed sighting was near Castell de la Trinitat.

Authorities say the search will continue in the Pals area, with air, sea and land units working together until the teenager is found. For more Catalonia news, see our news page.
