Mathios Rodríguez, an athlete from CA Igualada Petromiralles-Aigua de Rigat, achieved a first-place finish in the 800 metres at a quadrangular event in Castelló de la Plana. This competition marked the opening day of the Joma Honour Division League, where Rodríguez was representing Hospitalet Atlètic.

Rodríguez completed the two-lap race in 1:51.97, outperforming Juan Gabriel Brici of Playas and his temporary teammate Miquel Sánchez. This win earned eight points for Hospitalet Atlètic, which finished second in the meeting with 182 points. Playas de Castelló secured first place with 202 points, while Tenerife CajaCanarias came third with 162 points.

Igualada Athletes Contribute to Team Scores

Beyond Rodríguez's victory, three other male athletes from CA Igualada Petromiralles also scored points for Hospitalet Atlètic. Guim Morcillo placed third in the javelin throw with a best effort of 63.65 metres. Aleix Camats finished fourth in the discus, achieving a throw of 39.95 metres, and Isaac Baltà secured seventh place in the 110 metres hurdles with a time of 15.34 seconds.

In total, the Igualada athletes contributed 21 points to Hospitalet Atlètic's male team. This contribution was one point more than the difference between Hospitalet Atlètic and the third-placed team, highlighting the significance of their individual performances.

Female Athletes Compete at Home

In the women's category, two athletes from Igualada competed against Avinent Manresa in a home event. Aina Eberlé finished seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.60 metres. Elsa Alías also placed seventh in the hammer throw, with a distance of 42.24 metres. These performances added four points to Hospitalet Atlètic's female team, which ultimately finished third in their competition with 173 points.
