Barcelona police are investigating after a man was stabbed at La Pau metro station early on Saturday morning, 24 May 2026, while trying to break up a large fight.
The incident happened on the L4 metro line at around 3am, according to the Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s police force. The fight involved around 20 people.
Sources close to the investigation said the victim was a homeless man who was at the station but was not involved in the fight. He suffered a stab wound to the glute when he tried to separate the two groups.
When Mossos officers arrived, everyone involved had already fled. No arrests have been made. The injured man was taken to a Barcelona hospital for treatment.
