A man who was shot last Tuesday on Passeig de Taulat in Barcelona has died in hospital on Sunday, according to the Mossos d'Esquadra. The victim had been hospitalised for five days following the incident, which occurred opposite the Diagonal Mar shopping centre.
The shooting took place on Tuesday, 15 April 2026, at approximately 3.50pm on the public street. Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after. The man was immediately taken to a hospital in the Catalan capital where he received treatment for his injuries.
Catalan police confirmed the man's death to Europa Press, with the news also reported by the 'Ara' newspaper. The Mossos d'Esquadra maintain an open investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the subsequent death.
