A 30-year-old man was arrested in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, today after a shooting incident that left no one injured. The event occurred around 5am on Batllori Street in the Sant Josep neighbourhood, according to police sources cited by ACN.

Local police, the Guàrdia Urbana, quickly arrived at the scene after hearing two shots. Officers saw a vehicle fleeing the area, running a red light. A short chase followed, ending near the Matacavalls bridge where one of the car's occupants was arrested.

The Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, have taken custody of the detained man and are collecting evidence to clarify the facts of the incident.

Recent Shooting in L'Hospitalet

This incident comes just two weeks after another shooting in the same municipality. On 4 May, residents of the La Torrassa neighbourhood reported hearing detonations around 6:30am on Rambla Catalana. Police found five bullet casings on the ground and started an investigation to find the person responsible for those shots.

Catalan Interior Minister Núria Parlon stated that the earlier shooting was connected to drug-related matters.
