Municipal staff in Lloret de Mar, Girona, are due to strike on Friday, 29 May 2026, over salary improvements, according to the CSIF union. The action adds to a wider labour dispute at the town council.

The strike is set for 12pm and will coincide with an extraordinary plenary session requested by Junts, Tots per Lloret and ERC. The meeting will examine the worsening work environment and human resources management within the council.

The dispute has already affected other parts of the local workforce. Local Police officers stopped working overtime, and maintenance services later stopped taking on-call duties.
