Six businesses in Lloret de Mar have received Linguistically Responsible Companies accreditation in a local scheme led by the town’s Catalan Language Office and Lloret Turisme on Thursday, 11 June 2026.

For residents and visitors in Lloret de Mar, the practical effect is more Catalan in shopfronts, service desks, websites and contracts, and a clearer route for other firms to join the scheme by contacting the office directly.

The accredited businesses are Hotel Anabel, Hotel Acapulco, Tastets de Món, Marmirada, Traveltec, and Golf Lloret Padel Pitch & Putt. According to the town’s Catalan Language Office, each company took part in a linguistic audit before receiving the accreditation.

The review looked at exterior and interior signage, spoken information, website language options, social media presence, staff oral competence, merchandising, advertising, written communication, and customer contracts. After the audit, each business received a valuation report with proposals for improvement.

Lloret mayor Adrià Lamelas presented the accreditations and a letter of thanks at the ceremony. He said the aim is to keep promoting Catalan so that people can know it, use it, and see it as an opportunity, and that the businesses’ commitment helps build a more inclusive and cohesive society that respects linguistic rights.
