Lleida City Council has granted a licence for the expansion of Lleida Truck Center in the Torre Solé industrial estate in just 14 days, officials said on 21 May 2026. The fast-track approval, through the Economic Promotion Ordinance and the Invest in Lleida office, will let AT Nou Transport and Transports Trota begin the second phase of the project immediately.
The expansion involves an €8.3 million investment and the construction of a 9,600 square metre industrial warehouse. It will create 50 new jobs, adding to the 25 people already employed at the centre.
Lleida Mayor Fèlix Larrosa thanked the municipal team for its work and praised local businesses for their confidence in the city. He said, “Lleida is sounding different, it is sounding positive, with ambition, as a space full of opportunities.” He added that the council wants entrepreneurs and promoters to trust the city and its administration, helping to create jobs and spread wealth.
Xavier Bautista, speaking for Lleida Truck Center, said the project began in 2024 with its first phase, a Volvo Truck & Bus official workshop that opened in July 2025. He said the second phase licence was obtained quickly. The new phase will include a multi-service workshop for industrial vehicles and trailers, with rapid repairs for mechanics, windscreens, tyres and bodywork, plus a washing tunnel.
Construction is expected to start in June, with inauguration planned for May next year. A third phase, an ITV vehicle inspection station, is also planned, pending regulatory changes from the Generalitat to liberalise the sector. The full project aims to employ 120 people once all three phases are operating.
The Invest in Lleida office has already supported and accelerated administrative procedures for 24 projects, with planned business investment of €172 million. Torre Solé is becoming a key logistics hub for Lleida and inland Catalonia. Planned developments include a 6 million square metre expansion of industrial land, the enlargement of the Segre industrial estate, the new Torreblanca estate and a railway terminal.
