More than 1,200 pupils across 14 schools in Lleida have completed the "L'Aventura de la Vida" (The Adventure of Life) programme for the 2025-2026 academic year. This municipal project, run by Lleida City Council and Fundesplai, has promoted healthy habits and life skills for 21 school years.
The programme focuses on areas such as nutrition, rest, hygiene, and preventing risky behaviours. It also helps children develop personal and social skills, including self-esteem, assertive communication, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.
Reflecting on Conflict Management
This year's closing event centred on peace and coexistence, a theme linked to the skills taught in the programme and the city's Civility and Coexistence Pact. An interactive theatrical show, in a 'choose your own adventure' format, was performed by the company Nada Puede Malir Sal. Children aged 8 to 11 created and resolved a stage conflict during the performance.
This activity encouraged collective reflection on the importance of empathy, active listening, dialogue, and creativity for preventing and managing conflicts peacefully, according to officials. Public Health Councillor Jackson Quiñonez attended the closing event, alongside representatives from the Catalan government's Health and Education and Vocational Training departments.
Complementary Activities Expand Reach
In addition to the core programme, 18 schools participated in complementary activities this academic year. These included the "Viu la discapacitat" (Experience Disability) gymkhana and workshops on ocular and postural hygiene. These extra activities were organised with the help of the Official College of Physiotherapists and the ILO Foundation.
The "L'Aventura de la Vida" programme is led by Lleida City Council's Public Health Department, with support from the Catalan government's Health and Education departments. Moving forward, the initiative aims to continue its work in fostering positive social development among the city's youth.
