LLEIDA, Catalonia: Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a woman in her 20s near Lleida's bus station. Police received an alert at 3.37am on Saturday, 24 May 2026, from the woman's friends, according to police sources.

The incident reportedly took place when the woman was returning home and was approached by an individual who allegedly sexually assaulted her. She then informed her friends, who alerted the authorities. Patrols attended the scene, interviewed the woman, and activated the standard protocol for such cases.

The Mossos d'Esquadra Investigation Unit in Segrià has taken charge of the enquiry. Investigators are looking into whether one or more perpetrators were involved. No arrests had been made by Saturday afternoon, officials said.
