In the central hours, Balaguer and Lleida city could both reach 37°C, while Tàrrega may hit 36°C. Winds are expected to be light and variable in the morning and evening, before turning moderately southerly around midday.

According to the Twitter account ClimadeLleida, Lleida capital could record the highest maximum temperatures of May 2026, and possibly of any May in the last 86 years. The account said temperatures between 4pm and 5pm today could range from 36°C to 37°C, with Friday, 29 May, potentially even hotter at 37°C to 38°C.

Authorities are advising people to take care during outdoor activity and road travel, especially in the strongest sun. They recommend drinking enough water, avoiding long exposure to the sun, and paying extra attention to children, older people and those with chronic illnesses.
