Lleida is set to host over 300 extra practical driving examinations on Saturday, 16 May, in an extraordinary session designed to reduce existing waiting lists, according to the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT).
This initiative will increase the number of practical Class B (car) tests. It uses itinerant examiners temporarily assigned to the Segrià capital as part of a DGT shock plan. José Crespín, the Spanish government's sub-delegate in Lleida, stated that “the DGT has acted responsibly and quickly in response to the increased demand, reinforcing human and organisational resources to continue improving public service”.
Boosting Examination Capacity
The extraordinary testing will take place centrally in Lleida city. This organisational decision aims to increase the DGT's operational capacity across the entire province in the coming weeks, according to the Spanish government sub-delegation. Crespín added that “holding this extraordinary session in Lleida will absorb a significant part of the accumulated demand in the capital”.
This move will also free up more resources to strengthen examinations in other parts of the territory, specifically at testing centres in La Pobla de Segur and La Seu d'Urgell.
