Lleida emergency services recovered two bodies on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, one found floating in the Segre River near Pont Nou and another at the Utxesa reservoir. Police are investigating the circumstances of both deaths.
The Mossos d'Esquadra, Guàrdia Urbana and Bombers de la Generalitat responded to an alert received shortly before 4pm about the body in the Segre River. The city of Lleida was the focus of that response, after an earlier report elsewhere in the province the same day.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, a deceased person was found at the gates of the Utxesa reservoir, according to local officials. The body recovered from Utxesa appeared to have been in the water for several days and was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The Mossos d'Esquadra are leading both investigations. Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased or any further details about the causes of death.
