Lleida’s Aplec del Caragol drew praise from visitors from the Barcelona metropolitan area, with families from Abrera and Castellbisbal highlighting the lively atmosphere at the festival on 24 May 2026.

The visitors said they had been to the Aplec before and described it as a great party. They also said they envied the atmosphere in the penyes, the groups or clubs that help shape the event.

While eating snails at the Gust de Lleida restaurant, set up in one of the Fira de Lleida pavilions, the family said the snails were delicious. This year, attendees could eat in one of the pavilions or at Restaurant La Plaça, a terrace in the centre of the venue.

Local residents from Lleida also attended the festival. One couple with two children said it was a way to experience the Aplec without being part of a colla, the group structure that is central to the celebration.

The Aplec del Caragol remains one of Lleida’s main cultural and social events, bringing together long-time participants and new visitors from across Catalonia. Read more Catalonia news on our news page.
