The Leganés Veterans team claimed victory in the inaugural Legends Figueres Cup on Sunday, 14 June 2026, after beating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 2-0 in the final held at Vilatenim in Figueres, Girona. This international veterans' tournament saw host team Figueres finish in third place.

The competition also featured Olympique de Marseille, an Occitania selection, and Palamós. The event aimed to combine competitive football with a charitable cause, supporting a local organisation dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities.

Individual Honours and Notable Players

Individual accolades were awarded to several players for their performances throughout the tournament. Yann Beauregarg of PSG was the top scorer with four goals, while Javier Martín from Leganés earned the Most Valuable Player award. Joan Ureña of Figueres was recognised as the best goalkeeper, and Jordi Mir, also from Figueres, received the award for best local player.

The tournament attracted several well-known names from the world of football. These included Chuli Vázquez, Queco Piña, and Miguel Falcón for Leganés, Lamine Gassama for Olympique de Marseille, Xavi Molas representing Palamós, and Bertin for PSG. The Legends Figueres Cup had a strong charitable focus, with all proceeds donated to El Dofí, a leisure centre for people with intellectual disabilities in the Alt Empordà region. The Agrupació de Veterans de la UE Figueres organised the event, which received support from Figueres City Council, Girona Provincial Council, and UE Figueres.

Sponsorship for the tournament came from local businesses, including the Òpera patisserie and Txots cider house. Organisers have expressed their intention to expand the tournament in the coming year, aiming to attract more renowned teams and further grow the event's reach and impact.
