In La Seu d'Urgell, work has begun on Regència d'Urgell street, on the section between Llorenç Tomàs i Costa street and Pau Claris Avenue. The project is aimed at creating more space for pedestrians, improving universal accessibility and modernising the street's service infrastructure and urban furniture.
The street previously had a segregated carriageway and narrow pavements. According to the council, the intervention is intended to make the area more spacious, greener and more suitable for daily use by residents and visitors.
The renovation will also add more urban green space. It will renew underground services that were described as obsolete, with the aim of improving the long-term functioning of the street's utilities.
The municipal council of La Seu d'Urgell is overseeing the work. It says the changes should improve safety, comfort and accessibility for people walking through the area.
This is part of wider urban renewal in La Seu d'Urgell, as the council continues to adapt public spaces to current standards. For more local coverage, see our news page.
