Junts per Catalunya in Anoia has added David Sánchez, the former mayor of Jorba, to its regional political project, according to party sources. The move brings a figure with local government experience into the party’s work in the comarca.
Sánchez previously served as a regional councillor for the Environment and was responsible for municipal policy during an earlier period with the party. Junts says his background strengthens its presence in Anoia and supports its local engagement.
Party sources described Sánchez as someone with “institutional experience, knowledge of the territory, a clear municipalist vocation, and a commitment to digitalisation and industrial recovery.” Those priorities are part of the party’s stated focus for the area.
His time as mayor of Jorba gives him direct experience of the issues facing towns in Anoia. That local perspective is likely to shape his role as Junts continues to build its team across the comarca.
The appointment also fits into wider political work in Catalonia, where parties are looking to strengthen their local structures and policy teams. For more local political coverage, see our news page.
