A Junts councillor from Salt, Jordi Subils, attended the opening of Aliança Catalana’s new headquarters in Girona on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Subils, who is responsible for Sports and Public Health in Salt’s municipal government, was seen speaking with Marc Villafañe, who was presented as Aliança Catalana’s lead candidate for Girona.

Subils followed the event from the audience. Aliança Catalana has not yet announced its candidate for Salt, a municipality where the party may try to present a list in the upcoming municipal elections. When asked by Diari de Girona if he would be Aliança Catalana’s top candidate in Salt, Subils said he “could not confirm anything.”

The Girona event was used to formally open the party’s local office and introduce Villafañe as its candidate for the city. Aliança Catalana already holds seats in the Catalan Parliament and is seeking to build a stronger municipal presence across Catalonia.

The councillor has not publicly announced any change in party affiliation or any political move ahead of the next elections. The appearance has prompted local political speculation, especially in Salt, where the party could still decide whether to field a list.
