Cornellà de Llobregat-based mixed martial arts fighter Josua Hernández is set to make his Cage Warriors debut on 20 June in Manchester, UK. He will face British fighter Nathanael Woods at the BEC Arena, representing Spain on one of Europe’s best-known MMA stages.

Cage Warriors is widely regarded as one of the leading international MMA promotions and has long been a route towards the UFC. The CW 207 card will also feature a lightweight title fight between Omiel Brown and Ieuan Davies.

Hernández, who is 27, previously told Metrópoli Abierta about his childhood in El Salvador. He left Zacatecoluca at the age of 10, after his mother had already moved to Spain in search of a better future for the family.

After settling in Cornellà, he turned to martial arts as a way to channel his energy and build a new life. That path took him from amateur competition to becoming a Catalan and Spanish amateur champion, and later to appearing on the Warrior Games reality show produced by the Climent brothers.

He now trains at several centres, including the L'Hospitalet Jiu-Jitsu Academy, and also works with younger athletes. His move into Cage Warriors is the latest step in a career shaped in Catalonia and now moving onto the international circuit.
