A group of thieves carried out a ram-raid at the Joyerías Siglo XXI store within the Diagonal Mar shopping centre in Barcelona early on Monday, 15 June. The perpetrators used high-end vehicles to smash through the shop's display window to gain entry, according to police sources.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45am. Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, are now investigating the robbery, which saw the thieves make off with an undisclosed amount of goods.
High-End Vehicles Used in Attack
Officials said the group crashed a Land Rover into the shopping centre to force their way in. After committing the robbery and securing their loot, the criminals fled the scene in a different vehicle, a Jaguar. No arrests have been made in connection with the theft so far.
This incident marks another ram-raid targeting a Barcelona establishment. Police continue their enquiries into the organised group responsible for this type of crime.
