Civil Protection has activated a pre-alert for the Inuncat plan in Pallars Jussà, Lleida, because intense rainfall is expected in the coming hours. The warning covers a risk of more than 40 litres per square metre in 30 minutes.

The Catalan Meteorological Service, Meteocat, has issued the rain intensity warning for the area. It also noted that 47.2 mm fell in 30 minutes at the Montsec d'Ares station, at 1,571 metres, in the same region.

Authorities say the pre-alert means emergency services are preparing for possible flooding and other rain-related incidents. People in the affected area are being asked to stay informed through official channels and to take care on roads and around low-lying areas.

Residents should avoid driving through flooded roads, secure loose outdoor items, and clear drains and gutters where possible. Heavy rain can quickly cause flash flooding, especially in mountainous areas such as Pallars Jussà.

Further updates are expected from Civil Protection and Meteocat as the situation develops. For official weather information, readers can check Meteocat and Civil Protection updates from the Generalitat de Catalunya at Interior.
