L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, in Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, is set to gain a new 13-hectare industrial estate as part of the expansion of Les Tàpies. The project is being framed as part of the area's preparations for a post-nuclear future.

The new development would sit north of the first two phases of Les Tàpies, between the AP-7 motorway and the Llastres river. A private developer is promoting the scheme and would handle both the urbanisation work and the sale of the industrial plots.

The developer has already secured more than 80% of the land needed for the project, which was previously in the hands of small private owners. The scheme has also applied for support from the Nuclear Transition Fund, according to local reports.

If the plans move ahead as expected, initial construction could begin in 2027. Les Tàpies was first opened 30 years ago, and this third phase would add to its long-term growth.
