Glovo's employment regulation file (ERO) will affect 91 delivery riders in Catalonia, according to trade union sources. This represents 21% of the 436 riders impacted by the ERO across Spain.
Most of the affected workers operate in municipalities within the Barcelona metropolitan area and coastal zones. No employees in Barcelona city will be made redundant. Glovo and trade unions reached a unanimous agreement on Wednesday night to reduce the ERO's scope and offer compensation of 37 days' pay per year worked.
Reduced Impact Across Towns
Initially, 143 employees in Catalonia were expected to be affected. However, the entire fleet of 20 workers in Salou has been saved. Despite this, there will be 20 redundancies in Castelldefels, 14 in Calafell, and 10 in Molins de Rei.
Specific job losses, as reported to ACN, include 7 in Arenys de Mar, 7 in Calella, Malgrat de Mar, and Santa Susanna, 4 in Cardedeu, 2 in Esparreguera, 1 in Lloret de Mar, 3 in Martorell and Sant Andreu de la Barca, 8 in Platja d'Aro, 2 in Roses, 5 in Torredembarra, 3 in Tortosa, and 5 in Vilafranca del Penedès. The agreement aims to mitigate the impact on workers while restructuring operations.
