Girona province, in Catalonia, recorded the second-highest number of arrests and investigations in Spain linked to property occupations during 2025, according to data from the Ministry of the Interior.
The figures show 982 people were detained or investigated in connection with home invasions and property usurpations. That works out at an average of 82 people a month, or nearly three a day.
