Several homes in Girona’s Montjuïc neighbourhood lost power on Saturday morning after a fire broke out in two electrical boxes.
The alert came in at 10.30am, when the Generalitat Fire Service sent crews to Pascual Street in Girona, according to officials. Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it spread beyond the electrical boxes.
No injuries were reported, but residents in the affected area experienced a temporary electricity cut. The incident caused local disruption in the Montjuïc area.
Fire crews contained the fire to the electrical boxes and prevented damage to other parts of the buildings or nearby properties. The quick response limited the impact on the neighbourhood.
