In Girona, father and data analyst Roger Sanjaume has created a web application to help families estimate their chances of getting a place in municipal nursery schools, according to Diari de Girona.
The tool comes as more than 350 families in the city are waiting on a draw for a place in a municipal or Generalitat-run nursery school. Those families are tied on 30 points in the application process.
Sanjaume built the application after seeing that his own daughter was among the families affected by the process. It lets each family check the likelihood of getting its first-choice nursery before the official draw.
The draw is scheduled for 2 June and will decide the final placements for hundreds of children in Girona. The application is intended to give parents a clearer view of where they stand before the result is announced.
