Girona City Council will retender a contract to plant 150 trees after the first bidding process received no offers. The project is part of the city’s plans to increase urban greenery in Girona.
The contract covered both supplying the trees and preparing the planting sites. It was due to run between November this year and March 2027, but the two lots in the tender did not attract any bids.
The council now has to restart the procurement process from the beginning. That will mean reviewing the tender terms and, if needed, adjusting the budget or the scope of work to make the contract more attractive to bidders.
The delay means the tree planting timetable will be pushed back. The council says the aim is to improve environmental quality and add more green spaces for residents.
