Girona-Costa Brava Airport has started two new flight connections to the United Kingdom, according to officials. The new routes connect Girona with Gatwick and Edinburgh airports, operated by Jet2.

These additions aim to strengthen the airport's position as a key entry point for its surrounding region. The airport's management stated that the connection with European capitals and the Brexit area is consolidating.

Strengthening Regional Access

Officials said the new routes help to strategically position the airport within its area of influence. This expansion provides more travel options for residents and visitors alike, particularly those travelling between Catalonia and the UK.

The airport's focus on increasing international links comes as part of a broader strategy to boost tourism and economic activity in the Girona region. Further announcements on new routes are expected in the coming months, as the airport continues to expand its network.
