Girona-Costa Brava Airport has started its first regular direct flight to Luxembourg, adding a new summer link for travellers in Catalonia. The route is operated by Luxair and began on 2 June 2026.

The service runs until 29 August, with two weekly departures on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Luxair has scheduled 52 flights in total, offering 3,952 seats, and each flight uses a Dash 8 aircraft with 76 seats.

Until now, the airport in Vilobí d'Onyar only had charter connections with Luxembourg. This scheduled route expands Girona airport's international offer for the summer season and adds another direct option for tourism and business travel.

The inaugural event included representatives from the Girona Provincial Council, the Girona Chamber of Commerce, the Catalan government, Girona-Costa Brava Airport, the Girona Tourism Board and Luxair. Those present included Miquel Noguer, Jaume Fàbrega, Vicent Pallarès and Marven Bill.

The Strategic Airport Board, made up of the Girona Provincial Council, the Catalan government, through Aeroports de Catalunya and the Catalan Tourism Agency, and the Chamber of Commerce, works to attract new routes to the airport under the GROwing brand. Girona's summer schedule now includes connections to 50 cities in 15 European countries. More Catalonia news
