Figueres, Girona. The Colla Castellera de Figueres, a local human tower group, will deliver the opening speech for the Fires i Festes de la Santa Creu festival this Saturday at 7pm. Jordi Jordà i Casademont, the group's founder and first president, expressed his delight at the honour.

Jordà i Casademont has a long history in the region. He has worked extensively in radio, directing stations across Catalonia, Spain, and Portugal. A native of Figueres, he is also a musician and a member of Mini-Stress, a group that promotes traditional Catalan music.

Jordà's Local Connections

Beyond his musical pursuits, Jordà i Casademont has held several leadership positions in local cultural organisations. He served on the board of Joventuts Musicals and is currently the secretary of the Institut d'Estudis Empordanesos. His children are also involved in music and human tower building, according to local reports.

The Colla Castellera de Figueres was established with strong momentum, Jordà i Casademont said. He celebrated the group's selection to open the city's main festival. The Fires i Festes de la Santa Creu marks a significant cultural event for Figueres residents each year.
