Falset, Priorat, is strengthening its cultural and territorial partnerships for the upcoming Falset Wine Fair, scheduled for 1 to 3 May. The event, which showcases wines from the DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant regions, will feature collaborations with the cities of Reus and Tarragona, the FiM Vila-seca Emerging and Family Music Fair, and the Garbinada Pop festival.

These alliances will bring a series of concerts and performances to Falset, catering to both general and family audiences. Last year, the fair attracted around 35,000 visitors interested in wine, gastronomy, and cultural tourism.

Carlos Brull, Mayor of Falset and president of the organising committee, said the Falset Wine Fair has become "a unique showcase" that extends beyond the Priorat region. He added that the fair balances its recreational and winemaking aspects, making alliances with other towns, cities, and cultural events "entirely natural."

Cultural and Musical Collaborations

Reus and Tarragona will have a presence at the Falset fair. Tarragona City Council will host a cultural and tourism stand. Reus City Council will present the animated show "Modernism near Wine" on 2 May at 5.45pm, in honour of Gaudí Year 2026.

The partnership between the FiM Vila-seca and the Falset Wine Fair, first established in 2023, has been renewed. This agreement includes two FiM performances in Falset and, in return, the FiM will feature activities related to Priorat wines, such as tastings.

The FiM performances in Falset will take place on 1 May. At 1.30pm, the family show "Hem vingut a jugar" (We've Come to Play) by Sardines en Llauna will encourage audiences to reclaim the street as a space for freedom and shared fun. This pre-premiere performance is part of a new album supported by FiM Vila-seca's artistic accompaniment programme. Later, at 6.30pm, Terrae will perform their show "Nostre gra" (Our Grain), offering a blend of rooted vocals and modern percussion.

This agreement aims to promote the region through two fairs that have become national benchmarks in their respective fields. FiM Vila-seca, organised by Vila-seca City Council, will hold its 22nd edition from 7 to 10 May 2026, serving as a platform for emerging modern music and family musical shows from Catalonia.

Garbinada Pop and Independent Concerts

The Garbinada Pop festival will also feature at the fair, with a concert by The Rhythm Treasures on 2 May at 6.30pm. The quintet will perform tracks from their album All Around The World, which draws from authentic rhythm and blues. The Garbinada Pop festival, promoted by Plujafina, aims to provide Falset with a steady programme of independent pop/rock and Catalan music. Since 2021, the festival has hosted acts such as Els Pets, Mishima, and The Tyets.

Additionally, the Falset Wine Fair will host two independent concerts. Stromboli Jazz Band will perform on 2 May at 1pm, offering a mix of dixieland, classical jazz, and swing. Sardines, a cover band known for its funky, soul, and rock and roll repertoire, will perform on 3 May at 1pm. Pau Terol, a musician from Reus, will join Sardines on keyboards.
