Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) set out six areas of parliamentary focus at a working meeting in Alella on Friday 18 September, as the Catalan Parliament begins its new political year.
For residents, the agenda concerns subjects with direct day-to-day consequences, including Rodalies commuter rail services, access to housing, schools and the use of Catalan. ERC did not announce specific measures or dates for proposals in its official statement.
The meeting brought together ERC's parliamentary group with party president Oriol Junqueras, secretary-general Elisenda Alamany and deputy president Diana Riba. The party identified the forthcoming Debat de Política General, the annual general policy debate in the Catalan Parliament, as one of the first major parliamentary events of the session.

ERC parliamentary spokesperson Ester Capella said the party would press for government commitments to produce results for the public.
“We are beginning a particularly significant political year,” Capella said.
Junqueras called for more resources and decision-making powers for Catalonia, naming financing, Rodalies, industrial policy and investment. He said the party's parliamentary alliances would be guided by Catalonia's interests.
ERC also said it will scrutinise an appearance by President Salvador Illa next week concerning Catalunya's exclusion from the PISA international education assessments. The party described the exclusion as a serious government error and said it would seek accountability after hearing Illa's explanation.
