In Girona province, the Empordà and the northern Costa Brava are set to see their first tropical nights of the year before the end of May, with minimum temperatures expected to stay above 20C.

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, Portbou could reach a minimum of 25C on Thursday, Cadaqués 24C, and Figueres 23C. Girona city is forecast to remain just below the tropical threshold at 19C.

Temperatures are expected to keep rising over the next few days, especially along the coast and pre-coastal areas. Some places could see daytime highs above 30C.

The warm spell is linked to an air mass from North Africa that has settled over the Iberian Peninsula. The pattern is expected to last until at least Saturday, when temperatures may ease slightly.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia says it will continue to monitor conditions and issue updates if the situation changes. For more Catalonia-wide weather coverage, see our news tag and the Meteorological Service of Catalonia.
