La Seu d'Urgell was the scene of an electrical fire on Tuesday night at the Alt Urgell Comarcal Archive, with five units of the Generalitat Firefighters sent to the building.

The incident was reported at 9.38pm and involved a fire in an electrical panel cabinet inside the facility. Firefighters brought it under control and extinguished the flames before they could spread to other parts of the building.

According to the fire service, only the electrical cabinet was affected. No damage was reported to the rest of the premises or to the archive’s contents.

The intervention ended without injuries, and normal activity resumed shortly afterwards. The cause of the electrical fault has not been released.

The Alt Urgell Comarcal Archive holds historical documents and records for the area, including municipal archives, notarial protocols and private funds. More Catalonia news
