El Dynàmic, a long-standing cerveceria in Figueres, will open a new terrace on carrer Caamaño by mid-August, aiming to expand its capacity and reinvigorate one of the city’s central streets. The project, led by Picaunamica SL, represents a €40,000 investment intended to draw more foot traffic and support the commercial recovery of an area that has seen declining activity in recent years.

Frederic Carbó, co-owner of El Dynàmic and president of Comerç Figueres, said the new space could serve as a catalyst for wider urban renewal. He noted that many commercial units along the street remain vacant and that the area has lost vitality despite its prime location between major shopping routes and close to the Salvador Dalí House Museum.
The terrace will occupy the space of four regulated parking spots, using a non-structural decking system. This follows a trend seen previously with expansions at Maia and Can Vi Ranci, which also converted parking into hospitality space. The move shifts public area use from vehicle storage to social and commercial activity in the heart of Figueres.
Boosting Employment and Summer Trade
The expansion will allow El Dynàmic to increase staffing by four employees, responding to higher demand during peak months. Though originally planned for completion in early June, administrative processing and construction delays pushed the opening to mid-August.
The venue, located at the corner of Monturiol and Caamaño, first opened in 1962 under Agustí Planas and became a social landmark over five decades. After closing in January 2013, Picaunamica reopened it in April 2014 as Dynàmic Cerveseria, preserving its heritage while modernising the offer.
This summer, the restaurant is also introducing a new 'Green Line' menu featuring lighter, fresher options aligned with current consumer trends, according to Gastronomia Empordà. Its current offerings include Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine, tapas, craft beer, wine, and cocktails, served in a modern, accessible space with outdoor seating.
