Druids Process Technology awarded top export prize

Druids Process Technology, an engineering company based in L’Ametlla del Vallès, received the Premi Catalunya Internacional a la Projecció Empresarial Catalana 2026 at the 39th Pimec Awards ceremony. The award recognises the firm’s international trajectory and its capacity to export technology developed in Catalonia worldwide. CEO Raimon Pérez accepted the prize at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on Wednesday 30 September 2026. The company specialises in developing machinery and technology for the steel wire industry. Originally rooted in the experience of AUTOMAT Industrial, founded in 1987, Druids Process Technology was established in 2014. It maintains a strong export focus, with operations across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Recently, the firm strengthened its international presence with the launch of DRUIDS America, headquartered in Houston.

The company’s communication actively promotes its Catalan roots while expanding globally.

The awards ceremony, held under the slogan 'Créixer és futur. Fem-ho gran' (Growing is the future. Let's make it big), was presided over by the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa. Also in attendance were Elma Saiz, Spain’s minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration; Barcelona mayor Jaume Collboni; President of the Parliament of Catalonia Josep Rull; and Carlos Prieto, the Spanish government’s delegate in Catalonia. Antoni Cañete, president of Pimec, used the occasion to call for regulated migration policies that include training and job access for newcomers, stating: “We cannot just give fish, we must also give fishing rods.”


Other firms honoured at the event included Halitta Foods, B i B Grup, Theker Robotics, Pallars Fustes and Kave Home.
