Deltebre, in the Terres de l'Ebre region, will host the EbreBizz conference on 29 and 30 May, an event set to gather nearly 1,000 professionals from the business and communication sectors.
The conference seeks to challenge the centralised nature of large events, bringing national figures to the region. "We want to break the centralised dynamic of large events and ensure that national reference figures also have a presence here, in the territory," organisers stated.
Organisers believe that physical distance is no longer a barrier, noting that social media has removed distances and democratised audience access. This approach allows professionals in the Terres de l'Ebre to connect with broader industry leaders without extensive travel.
Decentralising Business Events
The EbreBizz conference represents an effort to distribute significant professional gatherings beyond Catalonia's major cities. By attracting a large number of attendees and prominent speakers to Deltebre, the event aims to boost local engagement and provide new opportunities for regional businesses and communicators.
The focus on social media as a tool to overcome geographical limitations reflects a modern approach to networking and knowledge sharing. This strategy could help smaller towns host more high-profile events in the future.
