In Port de la Selva, Girona, a 70-year-old cyclist was injured on Sunday morning after falling from their bicycle. The incident was reported at 9.54am.

The cyclist suffered a broken collarbone and ankle. Two fire brigade units attended the scene, and the Emergency Medical System, SEM, later transported the injured person to Figueres Hospital.

The call for assistance came in just before 10am. Firefighters helped stabilise the scene so the cyclist could receive immediate attention before the transfer to hospital.

No further details have been released about how the fall happened. Officials have not said whether any other vehicles were involved.
