Tarragona’s Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre regions promoted cycle tourism at the Desafío Lagos de Covadonga event in Asturias this weekend, with the Tarragona Provincial Council’s Tourism Board leading the effort. Cambrils, Salou, and Vila-seca, La Pineda Platja also took part.

This was the fifth consecutive year that the Costa Daurada brand has attended the event. The promotion aimed to present the range of cycle tourism options in the area to a specialised audience with strong influence in the sector.

The event in Asturias brought together more than 8,000 cycling fans from across Spain and several European countries. The Costa Daurada had its own space in the exhibition area, which included about fifteen stands from leading cycling brands.

Visitors were shown how Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre can work as year-round cycling destinations. The regions point to their weather, varied landscapes, infrastructure, and specialist services, as well as a wide network of roads and routes for road cycling and mountain biking.

The promotion forms part of a wider tourism strategy to position Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre as cycle tourism destinations in southern Europe. The aim is to attract amateur riders and professional teams for training, competition, and sports holidays.
