The Museu d'Art de Girona (md'A) will inaugurate "Concha Ibáñez. The Evocation of Landscape" on Thursday, 18 June 2026, at 6pm. This exhibition marks the first posthumous show in Catalonia dedicated to the artist, according to museum officials.
The exhibition, curated by Elina Norandi, delves into Ibáñez's characteristic landscape series. It also includes previously unseen documentation, offering new insights into her artistic journey. Visitors can see the collection until 10 January 2027.
Honouring a Catalan Artist
The show coincides with the centenary of Concha Ibáñez's birth and takes place four years after her death. The md'A is honouring her legacy by focusing on the landscape works that defined much of her career. This retrospective provides an opportunity to recognise her significant contribution to Catalan art.
